Foundations: Energetic Understanding & Personal Transformation
(Sept. 25, 2024 - July 2025)
Self-regulate your emotions by operating the four energies that cause your emotions to rise, fall, expand, or contract. The same energies are the four phases of matter, the four primary colors, the four energies of healing, and the four components of one’s self.
The movement of these energies within you can awaken you or help you sleep, give you great insights or courage, and can make you more sensitive or more influential.
By controlling your breath’s direction and rhythm, you can tune yourself for a business meeting or a quiet sharing, for athletic events or enhanced learning. You gain the ability to operate your energetic system and unfold the hidden potentials of your self.
The Energy Body in the human being is manifested through seven centers of subtle energy also called “chakras”. The principal center of the 7 chakras is the heart center which is the source of the body’s magnetic field.
The centers are stimulated and developed by vocalized, sacred sounds that physically vibrate specific spots in the physical body. The sounds are also vibrational invocations of the various forms of universal energy.
The Sound-Invocation practices comprise a highly effective method of working with one’s body of vibration and energy to increase resilience, intuition, courage, compassion and peace.
The art of producing the sacred sounds is a specialty of iamHeart’s co-founder, Susanna Bair. She will describe the theory and the effects of sound vibrations and demonstrate simple techniques that build on Heart Rhythm Meditation.
The Sound-Invocation practices will be used in all the succeeding courses.
Building on the foundational knowledge from Course 1, this course focuses on Archetypal Energies, helping you balance Masterly (Jelal) and Saintly (Jemal) Temperaments.
Through self-reflection and guided mentorship, you will harness these energies to foster personal growth and integrate them into your daily life.

Advanced Emotional Healing & Spiritual Maturity
(Sept. 2025 - July 2026)
Emotional health, as defined in this course, means healing the wounds of the heart. This course provides tools for exploring heart wounds, discovering their nature and sources, and initiating the healing process. While complete healing may not be achieved within the duration of the course, significant progress can be made.
Self-mastery, the ability to control the body, mind, emotions, and spirit, is vital for spiritual development. This course focuses on self-mastery through the accomplishment of deeply important personal goals. Students will engage in a single-subject research study on a personal goal and document their findings in a comprehensive paper.
This course crystallizes the iamU program, presenting practices that help students integrate their learning into daily life. It offers specific training in the ancient mystical art of self-expansion, known as heart union.
The course discusses the cultures of the body, mind, and soul, aiming to create integration within the heart and incorporate wisdom from the past to prepare students for fulfilling their lives. Students will also explore how they can contribute to creating the Culture of the Heart.

Mentorship to Guide Your Growth
Throughout the duration of iamU, each student is supported with 1:1 personal-growth mentorship sessions.
Mentorship provides students the opportunity to address more intimate experiences that arise over the course of practice development. Our mentoring relationships are grounded in empathy, understanding and acceptance to create a safe and supportive environment for each mentee.
Through regular monthly one-to-one meetings your mentor will listen deeply from their heart and provide practices to address your unique needs and circumstances. The iamHeart Mentoring Program offers a unique approach to personal development, one that emphasizes the importance of connecting with the heart as a source of wisdom and insight.
Immersive Retreat
Private retreats bring your iamU studies to life by experiencing the development of the heart with a dedicated practice.
Daily Heart Rhythm Meditation, breath work, sound healing, prayers, songs, music, walks in nature, journaling, and talks with your guide are all tools in this transformative process.
Each retreat spans 7 days and provides a serene environment tailored to your personal growth and rejuvenation. You will be on retreat continually; even the breaks for meals and sleeping are part of the practice.
Participants can choose between an online retreat, included in tuition, or an in-person retreat for an additional cost.
Heart Rhythm Meditation (HRM) is an ancient meditation practice that syncs the breath and heartbeat.
It is a safe, authentic and effective set of instructions and practices that allows you to reach a meditative state at will. Using this technique as a foundation, we reliably bring peace to traumatized nervous systems, increasing physical and emotional health, as well as mental clarity and sense of meaning.
